Over the past week, the focus of coronavirus pandemic has been on Italy, Spain and the United States. Now, according to the latest data from Indonesia government, the number of new coronavirus cases in Indonesia surged by more than 200 for second consecutive day. That’s not an encouraging sign given the country only had a few cases until the end of March.
New infections rose by 247 on Tuesday, the biggest daily spike, taking the total to 2,738, Achmad Yurianto, spokesman for the government task force, said at a televised news conference in Jakarta.
