President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19)
U.S President Donald and Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19. The President and first lady confirmed in the early hours of Friday morning that both have tested positive for the virus. The pair were tested after Hope Hicks, a White House aide also tested positive for the disease. The Trumps will isolate in the White House while they recover.
President Trump becomes the third world leader to be tested for positive for the deadly virus. In April, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was tested for COVID-19 and later moved to intensive care after his condition worsened.
On July 9, President Bolsonaro was tested positive for COVID-19. He later posted a video of himself on Facebook taking hydroxychloroquine to treat the deadly coronavirus. He tested negative for COVID-19 less than 3 weeks after treatment with hydroxychloroquine.
In a tweet from his official Twitter account, President Trump said:
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”
