President Trump: ‘I may take hydroxychloroquine if my doctor permits me’
President Trump just said he may take malaria drug hydroxychloroquine if his doctor permits. The president said in answer to a question from reporter during the daily White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing this evening. Hydroxychloroquine drug’s popularity exploded online after a small study led by renowned French Professor Didier Raoult showed the drug to be effective in 100% percent of coronavirus patients.
Just this week, a global survey of over 6,000 doctors also shows hydroxychloroquine to be the ‘most effective therapy’ for coronavirus treatment. There are many other hydroxychloroquine success stories reported by doctors in New York, Florida and New Jersey.
On March 21, President Trump tweeted about the hydroxychloroquine calling it the ‘biggest game changer’ in the history of medicine. “HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine. The FDA has moved mountains – Thank You! Hopefully they will BOTH (H works better with A, International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents)…..,” President said in a tweet.

According to GoodRX, fills for hydroxychloroquine spiked by 367% from March 9 to March 19, after the Trump administration touted the drug as a possible treatment for COVID-19.
