Indian Ed-tech startup Invact Metaversity receives seed investment from over 70 global entrepreneurs; now valued at $33 million
Metaverse has taken the world by storm since Facebook changed its corporate name to Meta in October 2021. Since then, venture capital firms and global investors looking for opportunities to invest in the next big winners have poured billions of dollars into the space, hoping to get a piece of the $8 trillion metaverse pie.
One of the winners is Invact Metaversity, an Indian Ed-tech startup at the intersection of education and metaverse working to revolutionize and change the future of education. Invact is currently creating an immersive learning experience for students around the world. Invact platform enables students to learn with their peers in a social setting and belong to a community. The platform also enables students to experience the classroom from their couch.
Today, Invact announced it has received seed investment from more than 70 top global corporate leaders and founders of unicorns. The total amount of the round was not disclosed. However, Invact said the investment brings the company’s valuation to $33 million.
Also joining the seed round are top business leaders & educators including Kishore Biyani (Future Group), T.V. Mohandas Pai (Manipal Global Education), Dr. Ritesh Malik (Plaksha), and Kirthiga Reddy (former Facebook India head). The list also includes impressive new-age entrepreneurs from top startups like Zilingo, Zerodha, Razorpay, Sheroes, Snapdeal, Koo, CARS24, Bounce, Leap Finance, Suki, etc.
Founded in 2021 by CEO Manish Maheshwari and CTO Tanay Pratap, Invact is known to bring a convergence of virtual reality and digital second life to life. The startup said it’s currently working towards bringing the benefits of this emerging concept to the world of education.
People who have believed in the company’s vision and invested in it include global leaders from Microsoft, Meta (previously, Facebook), Coinbase, Google, Twitter, Uber, Amazon, Softbank, World Bank, Ford Foundation, Qatar Foundation, McKinsey, Spotify, GoJek, LinkedIn, Notion, Disney, and others.
Commenting on the fundraise Maheshwari said, “I am overwhelmed by the faith that the investors have shown in our company’s vision to make education available to everyone immersively at a price they can afford.”
Speaking of the seed funding, Tanay Pratap, Founder & CTO, said, “The hardware is cheaper, the network is ubiquitous, and the world is getting ready for a more immersive experience in work and otherwise. Education is ripe to be disrupted with Invact Metaversity.”
