Elon Musk says he is ‘thinking of’ quitting his jobs to become an influencer
When he’s not telling people to have more babies, Tesla CEO Elon Musk always has something interesting to share with his 60 million fans on Twitter.
Just last month, he asked his Twitter followers whether he should sell 10% of his stake in the electric-car maker to pay his tax bill. On Tuesday, he warned “Civilization is going to crumble” unless people have more children.
Then yesterday, Musk, who is also the founder and CEO of rocket company SpaceX, said he was “thinking of” leaving his jobs and becoming an influencer. In a tweet posted on Thursday, the world’s richest man said:
“thinking of quitting my jobs & becoming an influencer full-time wdyt.”

In response to his tweet, one of his fans said he would be Musk’s first subscriber if he would make an OnlyFans. Musk responded: “Maybe I will.”

It’s unclear if Musk was just joking or really serious about leaving the multi-billion empire he has built over a decade and quitting his roles. His comment may also have to do with a lot of stress he’s currently going through. On Monday, Musk told the audience at the Wall Street Journal event that he worked 7 days a week with only a few hours of sleep.
“It would be nice to have a bit more free time on my hands as opposed to just working day and night, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep 7 days a week. Pretty intense.”
Meanwhile, Musk once said during a conference call in January that he expects to be the CEO of Tesla for “several years.”
