Hong Kong-based Crypto investment platform Aspen Digital raises $8.8M in funding led by Rothschild-backed RIT Capital Partners
Aspen Digital is a Hong Kong-based fintech startup and a crypto asset management platform that provides wealthy investors and High-Net-Worth Individuals a single portal to manage their crypto investments.
Today, Aspen announced it has raised $8.8 million in funding led by RIT Capital Partners (RCP.L), the investment trust founded by Jacob Rothschild, with participation from Liberty City Ventures, an early venture investor in the blockchain industry, and Chatchaval Jiaravanon and Chaval Jiaravanon – members of Thailand’s richest family and owners of Fortune magazine.
Co-founded in 2021 by Yang He with backings from Everest Ventures Group and TTB Partners, Aspen provides a comprehensive and user-friendly solution for professional investors and money managers, from High-Net-Worth Individuals, family offices, to securities brokerages, external asset managers, private bankers, and investment advisors.
Aspen will use the fresh capital for the launch of the platform and its expansion to London, Yang He, co-founder and chief executive of Aspen Digital, told Reuters.
Commenting on the funding, Yang said, “To have the oldest wealth management family in the world putting trust in us as a platform solution for the new world of crypto investment is a great validation.”
Aspen currently provides services like automated investment strategies, asset custody, research and market intelligence, portfolio reporting, client portfolio, risk management, and market insights, along with custody solutions. In the meantime, Aspen is working towards consolidating its crypto offerings from market frontrunners like Celsius Network, Hex Trust, and FTX.
The company also plans to allow investors to buy and hold cryptocurrency, invest in yield-generating products such as stablecoin-backed savings accounts, and offer automated strategies comparable to quant strategies employed by many hedge funds.
Emil Woods, founding partner of Liberty City Ventures, said: “We are thrilled to partner with one of the finest technical and business-savvy teams in blockchain and crypto.”
