DarkPulse to acquire TerraData Unmanned, a drone tech startup that offers multiple platform capabilities including underwater inspection
Last month, we wrote about DarkPulse, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based tech startup that is transforming the Brillouin Sensors with distributed fiber sensor solutions. For some of our audience who may not be familiar with DarkPulse’s technology, for many years optical fibers have commonly been used as communication channels where light waves propagate along haul distances. Historically, however, Brillouin Sensors have failed due to temperature/strain cross-sensitivity issues and poor resolution.
DarkPulse solves this problem using a new approach towards improving spatial resolution called dark pulsing, which provides improved resolution, accuracy, and acquisition time over conventional BOTDA systems, without the severe limitations on sensing length often imposed by other high-resolution techniques.
To further provide a data stream of critical metrics for assessing the health and security of infrastructure, DataPulse announced today that it has acquired TerraData Unmanned, a small drone startup company that offers multiple platform capabilities including underwater inspection services.
TerraData offers fully integrated, drone-based, geo-rectified, 3D modeled mapping for industrial applications including transportation departments, water management agencies, and engineering firms.
Founded in 2017, the Gainesville, Florida-based TeraData service-disabled veteran-owned small business startup provides unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and consulting to both commercial and government clients. Using largely proprietary UAS, TerraData provides photogrammetry and modeling services to the mining and construction industries in the form of 3D modeling and mapping, volumetric analysis of stockpiles, and erosion calculations for mine ponds. With the use of ROVs, they also support engineering firms and water management districts with the inspection of subsurface structures such as submerged RCP/CMP culverts, and the same techniques and hardware are applied to piers, bridges, and alike.
Founded in 2018 by Dennis M. O’Leary, DarkPulse is focused on the manufacture, sale, installation, and monitoring of laser sensing systems based on its patented BOTDA dark-pulse sensor technology (the “DarkPulse Technology”) which provides a data stream of critical metrics for assessing the health and security of the infrastructure.
