Dr. Fauci says he’s “not really sure” and has no explanation about why Texas COVID-19 cases keep dropping 4 weeks after the mask mandate was lifted
“The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a literary folktale written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen in 1837 about a vain emperor who gets exposed before his subjects. For those of you who have read the book, the emperor was finally exposed by a little child who blurts out that the emperor is wearing nothing at all before people then realize that everyone has been fooled.
For over a year now, we’ve been told to social distance and wear masks to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Thanks to researchers and scientists, we finally have the life-saving vaccines which everyone hopes will help us to return to our normal lives. Instead, Dr. Anthony Fauci and other health experts insisted on people wearing the masks.
But the Lone Star State of Texas ignored Dr. Fauci’s advice. On March 2nd, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he would sign an executive order ending Texas’ statewide mask mandate and allow all businesses to operate at full capacity. In a statement, Gov. Abbott said:
“For nearly a half a year, most businesses have been open either 75% or 50%. And during that time, too many Texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities. Too many small business owners have struggled to pay their bills. This must end. It is now time to open Texas 100%.”
Then on Wednesday, March 10, the executive order went into effect allowing businesses of any type to fully reopen. “This must end,” he said before also ending the statewide mask mandate. Immediately after the executive order went into effect, name-calling and mainstream media fearmongering kicked into high gear with Biden calling Gov. Abbott’s action a ‘Neanderthal thinking.’
Now almost four weeks after the mask mandate was lifted in Texas, Dr. Fauci was asked this morning during an interview on MSNBC Tuesday about why COVID-19 cases continue to drop in the State of Texas. As other health experts have struggled to come up with a satisfying answer, Dr. Fauci says he’s “not really sure” and has no explanation. Fauci says:
“I’m not really sure, it could be because they’re doing things outdoors, you know it’s very difficult to just one-on-one compare that…”
