Mark Cuban launches Lazy.com, a new digital art gallery to show off your NFTs
Earlier today, we wrote about how tech investors are pouring millions of dollars into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) startups as crypto collectibles craze sweep through the art world. The NFT market has been exploding since the beginning of this year as digital art creators and celebrities try to cash in on the trend.
NFTs are digital art that represents a unique digital asset with ownership stored as tokens on the blockchain network. NFT assets can either be entirely digital assets or tokenized versions of real-world assets. Because NFTs are not interchangeable with each other, they may function as proof of authenticity and ownership within the digital realm, for example as proof of the authenticity of rare art.
NFTs exploded onto mainstream public consciousness about two weeks ago when Christie’s Auction sold digital artist Beeple’s NFT for a record-setting $69.3 million, making it the most expensive digital art ever sold. Celebrities like Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk’s girlfriend Grimes, Lebron James, Linsey Lohan, and Paris Hilton have all jumped into the NFT craze and cashed millions.
NFT records are being set every day with items from videos of Lebron James shots and Beeple artwork sold as NFT for millions of dollars. Today, there are many NFT marketplaces where you can buy and sell NFTs, but the biggest challenge faced by NFT creators was the lack of a global platform to showcase them all in one place. With thousands of NFTs “dropping” every day, artists and NFT enthusiasts will benefit from having a centralized platform to showcase their newly minted NFTs.
Now, their wishes have been granted. Billionaire entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” co-host Mark Cuban, has launched a game-changing digital art gallery for users to display their NFTs. Cuban wanted a platform where he makes it seamless for users to easily showcase their NFTs. According to the website, Lazy.com provides “the lazy way to show off your NFTs.”
Currently in beta mode, the site is fairly easy to use. You simply follow the 3-step process and you are on your way to showcase your NFT for the world to see. The first step starts with the creation of your Lazy.com account. You can sign up here. Second, you connect your wallets to your account. The final step requires you to “add your unique lazy.com URL to your Instagram and social media bios.” Lazy.com plans to add more features in months to come.
Meanwhile, Cuban recently appeared on Bankless Channel on YouTube where he talked about fintech and why DeFi (decentralized finance) and NFTs are the future.
