Watch: This rare unscripted interview with Dr. Fauci shows there is still NO conclusive evidence that vaccines prevent transmission of COVID-19
Late last year, Pfizer chairman and CEO Albert Bourla said he’s not certain if the COVID-19 vaccine will prevent transmission of coronavirus. In an interview with Dateline host Lester Holt, Bourla said it’s not clear if the company’s coronavirus vaccine will be able to stop the spread of the virus to other people. “Pfizer was “not certain” if the vaccine prevented the coronavirus from being transmitted,” Bourla said.
During the interview, Holt asked Bourla: “Even though I’ve had the protection, am I still able to transmit it to other people?” Bourla answered: “I think this is something that needs to be examined. We are not certain about that right now with what we know.”
In another report from the New York Times, the paper wrote: “The new vaccines will probably prevent you from getting sick with Covid. No one knows yet whether they will keep you from spreading the virus to others.”
Fast forward three months later. There is still NO conclusive evidence that vaccines prevent transmission of COVID-19. In a recent unscripted interview with Mexican comedian Eugenio Derbe, Dr. Anthony Fauci confirmed what millions have been thinking that, at this point (March 2020), there is still NO conclusive evidence that vaccines prevent transmission of COVID-19.
According to this March 12 interview with Dr. Fauci, the vaccines currently protect you against symptoms and but not against transmission. At 14:26 minutes into the interview, in his response to Eugenio’s question about the effectiveness of the vaccines, Dr. Fauci said:
“We are unsure right now what the [vaccine] protection is against infection because it’s conceivable that you could get vaccinated, get exposed, get infected, not knowing because the vaccine is protecting you against symptoms but that you could have virus in your nasal pharynx, which is the reason why we say until we prove that the vaccine prevents transmission that people who are vaccinated should wear a mask when they’re near people who might be vulnerable to infection.”
Unlike the interviews from the so-called professionals” at those big-name media outlets and newspapers, Eugenio did an excellent job and Dr. Fauci probably learned for the first time what it is to be in a non-controlled interview
Below is the video at 14:26 into the interview discussing why the vaccine still does not prevent transmission.
