President Trump to launch his own social media platform to take on the Big Tech
We’ve been telling you about Big Tech censorship for some time now. This time, the Big Tech and Big Media have really overplayed their hands. America was founded on the notion of free speech, not censorship. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees freedom of speech for all its citizens, which also includes the right to peaceful protest. As such, Big Tech is a threat to free speech, free exchange of ideas, and has become the 21st-century oligarchs with unchecked power and will continue to silence anyone who opposes them.
The Big Tech companies, including Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple, and the other far-left websites masquerading as fact-checking sites, have now appointed themselves as the arbiter of truth and think they are smarter than millions of Americans to determine what they see, what they hear, and what they say.
It’s ironic considering that some of the Big Tech founders and executives fled their native countries for freedom only to come to the United States to censor the same freedom they fled from. The Big Tech censorship against people with opposing views has been going on for years now. It bubbled to the surface after President Trump was elected in 2016.
The hostility of the Big Tech toward President Trump and his followers reached a climax this week after Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram decided to permanently ban the President from their platforms. It all started on January 6 following the protests in Washington D.C that left at least five people dead. Twitter and Facebook later locked his social accounts for 12 hours.
Then on Friday, January 8, Twitter said Friday it has permanently suspended the personal account of President Donald Trump. The Big Tech censorship did not end there. Twitter went on to suspend the account of General Michael Flynn, attorney Sidney Powell, and various other pro-Trump accounts.
In a statement, Twitter said:
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter posted Friday.
However, Twitter did nothing to stop violence on its platform. As one Twitter user pointed out, on the same day @TwitterSafety banned President Trump on an accusation of ‘incitement,’ Twitter promoted as ‘trending’ tweets With a “Hang Mike Pence” message.
On the day @TwitterSafety bans Trump on a phony accusation of 'incitement,' this is what is promoted as 'trending.'

Meanwhile, Twitter’s actions were met with concerns and anger from people around the world including The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). On Friday, ACLU warned that the suspension of President Donald Trump’s social media accounts wielded “unchecked power” by large tech companies. In a tweet, ACLU wrote:
“We understand the desire to permanently suspend him now, but it should concern everyone when companies like Facebook and Twitter wield the unchecked power to remove people from platforms that have become indispensable for the speech of billions – especially when political realities make those decisions easier.”
Also in a response to Twitter, Amit Malviya, India’s National Head of Information & Technology, said: “Deplatforming Donald Trump, a sitting US president, sets a dangerous precedent. It has less to do with his views and more to do with intolerance for a differing point. Ironically, those who claim to champion free speech are celebrating. Big tech firms are now the new oligarchs.”

Meanwhile, having been suspended from his personal Twitter account (@realDonaldTrump), President Trump decided to use the official Twitter account of the US president, @POTUS, saying that:
“Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my accounts from their platform to silence me – and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me.” Trump then said that “Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long.”
However, it didn’t take long before Twitter deleted his tweet from the POTUS account (@POTUS). But the President, with his over 80 million followers, is now fighting back. A few hours after he was banned on Twitter, President Trump joined Parler, a Twitter alternative. In a message posted from his Parler official account (DonaldTrumpOFFIClAL), President Trump said:
“I JOINED PARLER BECAUSE FB & TWITTER DECIDED TO SUSPEND MY ACCOUNTS WITH 80M+ FOLLOWERS. FOLLOW ME HERE PATRIOTS.”
President Trump also announced that he is looking at the possibilities of building his own platform. In a series of tweets, which have now been deleted by Twitter, President Trump vows to start his own social platform. President Trump said:
“I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!”
“Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely. STAY TUNED!” he said, indicating future announcements are forthcoming.
“As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me — and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me,” he added.
“Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long,” Mr. Trump said.
