Mark Zuckerberg is giving all Facebook employees Thanksgiving week off
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Monday that it’s giving all U.S. employees Thanksgiving week off as a reward for working through ‘unprecedented challenges.’ Zuckerberg said the social giant will give other employees three new paid days off as well, according to a report from CNBC, citing an email Zuckerberg sent to all Facebook staff.
Zuckerberg added that all employees around the world will get an extra three days off — either Monday, Nov. 23 through Wed. Nov 25, or other days for particular teams or geographical regions.
“The idea here is to give as many people as possible a break. I hope you can disconnect and take the time to rest and recharge before the final push of the year,” Zuckerberg wrote.
Zuckerberg’s email came the same day he testified before a Congressional hearing alongside Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai about Section 230, the part of US law that protects tech companies from liability for user-generated content, and gives them broad authority to moderate their own platforms.
