Crypto.com, a crypto exchange that lets you buy, sell and pay with crypto, surpasses 5 million users

The last time we wrote about Crypto.com was back in July 2018 the highly-sought-after domain name Crypto.com was sold for $12 million to Crypto Visa card company Monaco. Crypto.com was previously owned by cryptologist Matt Blaze, an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania and a well-regarded cryptography researcher who is credited with the phrase and concept of “trust management.” Blaze first registered the domain in 1993.

Fast forward more than two years later, it seems the investment has paid off in a big way. Today, Crypto.com announced it has reached over 5 million users. This milestone comes only three months after reaching the 3 million user mark, with more and more people around the world recognizing Crypto.com as a leader accelerating the adoption of cryptocurrency into all aspects of daily life.

Commenting on the milestone, Kris Marszalek, Co-founder, and CEO said: “Crypto.com has been very fortunate to grow from 1m users to over 5m on the platform in only 12 months. We have an incredibly engaged user base, just as passionate as we are about realizing the vision of cryptocurrency in every wallet. I would like to thank all our customers for their incredible support along this journey. We promise to continue improving rapidly in all facets of the company, to serve you well.”

Marszalek said the company’s longer-term strategic goal is to reach 100 million users in the Crypto.com ecosystem within 5 years. “We will continue aggressively building against our public roadmap, with the aim of tripling our user base to 15m by the end of 2021. We are committed to achieving these goals, while also building a profitable business with sustainable incentives, built by a large, world-class team – now at over 600 people, and growing,” he added.

Also in a Twitter post, Crypto.com thanks its users and supporters saying: “We’ve surpassed 5 million users! Thank you.”
