Here’s the leaked email Elon Musk sent Tesla employees with 10 days left in Q3
The end of the third quarter is fast approaching. With less than 10 days in the quarter, Tesla is trying to do everything possible to meet its target delivery in order to improve its financials for the quarter. Over the weekend, Tesla CEO Elon Musk sent an email to all employees saying they would have to work really hard to meet the third-quarter target.
In a leaked email sent to Tesla employees and exclusively obtained by Electrek, Tesla CEO Elon Musk told employees that with “all hands on deck,” they could achieve record deliveries. Earlier in the year, Tesla issued guidance saying it would deliver 500,000 electric vehicles in 2020.
Tesla had its best delivery on record when it delivered 112,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2019 and 88,400 in the first quarter of 2020. However, in the second quarter, Tesla delivered only 90,650 vehicles due to the coronavirus pandemic on its production and factory shutdown in May and June.
In the meantime, Wall Street expects Tesla to report vehicle deliveries of 144,000 for the quarter, according to a survey of analysts by FactSet. It seems Tesla will be able to get close, if not exceed, the target.

Subj. All Hands On Deck!
We have a shot at a record quarter for vehicle deliveries, but will have to rally hard to achieve it. This is the most [sic] number of vehicles per day that we’ve ever had to deliver.
Please consider vehicle deliveries to be absolute top priority. It’s also extremely important that we keep factory output as high as possible over the remaining 10 days. This is vital for the California market.
Thanks for your most excellent efforts,
Elon
