Italian startup 2Hire closes $6.19M Series A funding to convert regular vehicles into connected cars
2Hire, the Italian Rome-based startup that turns all types of vehicles (cars, mopeds, electric bikes and scooters), into connected cars has scored a $6.19 million (€5,6 million) Series A investment round to keep revolutionizing connected mobility services. The investment round was led by the venture capital firm P101 SGR together with Linkem (the leading Italian broadband wireless connection company) and the existing investors Invitalia Ventures and LVenture Group.
Launched in 2017 by LVenture Group’s acceleration program, 2Hire is a mobility services platform which allows to interact with all kinds of vehicles thanks to a plug-and-play device that can be easily mounted on the ODB-II port. Its proprietary technology enables the remote control of the vehicle, real-time analysis and data tracking for rent-a-car services and fleet management.
The Rome-based startup offers mobility solutions by turning all types of vehicles into connected cars. By equipping vehicles with the 2Hire plug and play device, all actions are performed remotely by smartphone, with real-time data analysis.
The 2Hire platform monitors, manages and updates car parks services of all major automotive manufacturers, as well as those tied to new sharing mobility operators. The platform already connects over 10,000 vehicles worldwide, from Europe to South America and has grown to become one of the leading companies in Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) technology, with strong global partnership agreements.
“We believed in 2Hire since its beginning, when launching the startup through our very own Acceleration Program. Thanks to its team passion and commitment, together with our support, 2Hire is today one of the leading high-potential startups in the Mobility-as-a-Service sector. In only three years time they have validated the business model and accelerated growth by scaling up internationally. This investment round will further support the startup’s growth in the international market”, said Luigi Capello, CEO of LVenture Group.
“We are enthusiastic and proud for the renewed confidence shown by existing investors and for the entry of new major players to support our further growth. Our goal is to revolutionize connected mobility services, and this new investment round is key in stepping forward with both our expansion and heightened activities while pushing forward with innovating the automotive sector and enabling all the players to take advantage of new and incredible opportunities”, said Filippo Agostino, CEO & Co-founder di 2Hire.
