Journey to Space: Japanese billionaire Maezawa and founder of Retailer Zozo, is seeking a girlfriend for SpaceX voyage
Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, founder and chief executive of online fashion retailer Zozo, who has been chosen as the first private passenger by SpaceX, is searching for a girlfriend to join him on a voyage around the moon. The voyage, which will be the subject of a new documentary program is in the latest attention-grabbing stunt by the entrepreneur.
According to the information on his website, Maezawa, who is 44, said he’s looking for a “special woman” to join him on Elon Musk’s mission around the moon. Maezawa is seeking single women over 20 for the show, which will be shown on streaming service AbemaTV.
Maezawa is the founder of Zozo, Japan’s largest online fashion retailer. He sold his online fashion retailer Zozo Inc to SoftBank Group back in 2018. Before his latest publicity stunt, Maezawa recently split up with the model and actor Ayame Goriki.
“As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: continuing to love one woman,” wrote Maezawa on a website for applicants. “I want to find a ‘life partner.’ With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space,” continued Maezawa, who is due to fly around the moon in 2023 as the first private passenger with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Applications close Friday and Maezawa will select his partner by the end of March. All interested singles can apply here.
