European Startup Festival 2019 Opens in Malmö, Sweden
European Startup Festival is an event with a festival feel which brings together different stakeholders in Europe including start-ups, various industries, investors, universities, public agencies, cities, event organisers and incubators/accelerators. It’s an important opportunity for learning from high-profile experts, networking, collaborating with inspiring entrepreneurs and creating new European projects.
The European Startup Festival is celebrating the community at this inspirational event. It will be held in Malmö, a city that has raised the third largest amount of venture capital in all of the Nordics, between 20-22 September 2019.
Masterclasses By High-profile Experts
The conference offers interactive panels and meaningful networking opportunities as well as masterclasses which are run by high-profile expert speakers such as Alex Chisnall, John Auckland, Hampus Jakobsson and more. The masterclasses will give new perspectives to entrepreneurs and other participants. The organization will also hold effective roundtable discussions for the different stakeholders to learn from each other, how to collaborate to grow, face new challenges and create innovative European projects.
Selected Startups Meet Investors
The meetings between start-ups and investors will enable selected start-ups to meet investors and help to build important network for their business. These promising entrepreneurs were selected through competitions which were held in five different countries (UK, Austria, Sweden, Italy, Armenia). There were over 150 start-ups from across Europe applying for the Pitching Matches but only a few made it in front of the judges.
Entertainment is an important and integral part of the European Startup Festival. The main attractions will be a British comedian, a magician and a rapper.
This Year Will Be The Second Edition
The Festival is an annual event organized by the European Startup Association, this year will be the second edition of the conference. The first European Startup Festival was held in Turin, Italy at IAAD (a private Italian University for Design), Torino Incontra (Chamber of Commerce) and CAMERA (Italian Centre for Photography) in September 2018. It was immensely successful. Over 1000 tickets were ordered and the event was sold out.
From Asia To Africa
Hundreds of participants attended the event from different European countries but also China, India and African countries. Feedback from participants and speakers were excellent. Attendees said that they made new friends for life, learned a lot of new things and were inspired.
The European Startup Association was founded by Christine Michaelis and Adriano Travaglia. Christine is a start-up Coach and Mentor, author, entrepreneur and marketing expert. Adriano is a lawyer, investor and serial entrepreneur.
All Stakeholders In One Community
They created this European community for all stakeholders: start-ups, investors, public and private agencies, cities, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, event organisers and universities. Their mission is to create a functional, borderless, cooperative European Startup Ecosystem. This is to help exceed the territorial limits, boost international business opportunities for promising startups and share knowledge and experiences.

The European Startup Association is a growing community devoted to explore innovative approaches to entrepreneurship as a way of life. The founders, Adriano Travaglia and Christine Michaelis, know that the success of a start-up is not only dependent on investment but on your network, knowledge and your team. The community is based on 3Cs (culture, collaboration and creativity) – involving all stakeholders of a European start-up ecosystem: start-ups, investors, accelerators, incubators, public and private agencies, cities, co-working spaces, event organisers and universities.
