Facebook headquarters evacuated after reports of sarin package
Authorities are investigating a package that tested positive for sarin at a mail center near Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, according to a report from US News. Facebook late released a statement saying: “We evacuated four buildings and are conducting a thorough investigation in coordination with local authorities. Authorities have not yet identified the substance found. As of now, three of the evacuated buildings have been cleared for repopulation.”
Fire officials say routine tests for chemicals detected the presence of sarin in a #Facebook mail facility. It’s possible that the detection is a false positive. We expect to get a briefing from @menlofire within the hour. Facebook officials have yet to comment.
ABC7 in Bay Area said in a tweet that The FBI is sending agents to a Facebook mail handling center in Menlo Park out of due diligence following reports that two people were possibly exposed to sarin.
