Kohler unveiled a $7,000 smart toilet with built-in speakers, mood lighting and Amazon Alexa voice controls
Kohler, a popular brand in your bathroom or kitchen products, has done it again. This time, the company unveiled an “intelligent toilet” called the Numi 2.0 at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. You may remember last year at CES 2018 when the company announced KOHLER Konnect, a suite of kitchen and bath products that use voice commands, hands-free motion control and offer Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit connectivity.
With Numi 2.0, Kohler is taking connected bathroom to the next level. Numi 2. comes with built-in surround sound speakers, ambient mood lighting, a heated seat, warm water cleansing with a dryer and automatic lid opening/closing and flushing. It also has Amazon Alexa voice controls built in so you can check the weather, listen to news and order more toilet paper all while sitting doing your “thing.” The Numi 2.0 is a part of Kohler’s connected bathroom, which includes a smart tub, smart shower and smart mirror. The toilet will be available to purchase at the end of 2019 and starts at $7,000.
In a press release, Kohler said that Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet will offer exceptional water efficiency, personalized cleansing and dryer functions, a heated seat, and high-quality built-in speakers. The lighting features on Kohler’s flagship intelligent toilet have been upgraded from static colors to dynamic and interactive multi-colored ambient and surround lighting. Paired with the new speakers in the Numi toilet, these lighting and audio enhancements create a fully-immersive experience for homeowners. Amazon Alexa built into the product provides simple voice control of Numi’s features and access to tens of thousands of skills, as well as a seamless integration of voice control into the bathroom.
The Numi toilet combines unmatched design and technology to bring you the finest in personal comfort and cleansing. Kohler’s most advanced toilet now offers personalized settings that let you fine-tune every option to your exact preferences, from ambient colored lighting to wireless Bluetooth®* music sync capability to the heated seat and foot warmer. Play your favorite music and podcasts – simply stream wirelessly with any device enabled with Bluetooth technology, store MP3 files to the SD card, or plug in your device using the auxiliary cable. Other upgrades include Power-Save mode for energy efficiency, emergency flush for power outages, and an intuitive touch-screen remote. From its striking form to its exceptional water efficiency, the Numi toilet marks a new standard of excellence in the bathroom.
