LeanIX, a SaaS provider for enterprise architecture (EA), raises $30 million in new funding to accelerate global growth and product innovation
LeanIX GmbH (LeanIX), a provider of SaaS for enterprise architecture (EA) to enable organizations to take faster, data-driven decisions in their IT, has closed another $30 million financing round for US expansion and continuous product innovation. The latest round was led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from previous investors: DTCP (Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners), Capnamic Ventures and Iris Capital. The new capital brings the total funding since its inception in 2012, to $40 million. In conjunction with the funding, the company also annouced that Teddie Wardi, Principal at Insight Venture Partners, will join the LeanIX Advisory Board.
Founded in 2012 by André Christ and Jörg Beyer, the Bonn, Germany-based LeanIX offers a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for Enterprise Architecture (EA), which enables organizations to take faster, data-driven decisions in their IT. Both founders have deep experiences in IT Management in multiple industries and market-leading companies. In their roles as global CIO, Line Manager or Consultant they always were confronted with over-complicated business software. Instead of helping the organizations to perform better, complicated tools usually have a negative impact not only on the employee’s satisfaction but also on the overall success of an initiative. Therefore they decided to create software, which is as easy as Google, as useful as Excel, as interesting as Facebook and as open as Wikipedia.
Most recently, LeanIX took 10th place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50- Germany’s fastest-growing technology companies. In 2018, LeanIX achieved several important milestones, such as doubling its global customer base and headcount and filling senior management positions. The company was able to set further standards in the EA tool market this year. As the first standalone EA tool with certified ServiceNow integration, data silos between departments are reduced and data collection is further automated. The new LeanIX Store transforms the application into an extensible platform. Customers and partners can now share their best practices, such as self-developed reports, with the LeanIX Store for other users.
More than hundred leading brands such as Adidas, DHL, Merck, Vodafone or Zalando use LeanIX software to increase their visibility, visibility and efficiency. Users of LeanIX software gain insight into how well the technology they use supports the business to increase competitiveness and to strengthen innovation. LeanIX addresses the frequent problem, that the required information about the IT landscape is missing, outdated or difficult to analyze. LeanIX addresses the need to provide high quality and timely data to those who need it. Applications include the removal of unused software, the avoidance of technology risks, and the transition from monolithic architectures to microservices.
“Today, businesses are faced with information overload and legacy IT landscapes that hinder productivity and business success. Companies need clear and actionable insights to optimize their enterprise architecture. More than ever, they are focusing on IT modernization, such as software-as-a-service, multi-cloud or microservices, and are looking for innovative EA tools, “says André Christ, co-founder and CEO of LeanIX. “Our goal is to become the global leader in enterprise architecture management, supporting modern and data-driven enterprise management.”
“Today, effective enterprise architecture management is a critical success factor in the digital transformation of businesses, and it requires robust tools that enable collaboration and agility,” said Teddie Wardi, Principal at Insight Venture Partners. “LeanIX is a pioneer in next-generation EA tools, has grown tremendously over the past year, and is a trusted partner to some of today’s largest and most complex companies.
