Event discovery platform startup Vuevent acquired by two-year old TrellisSoft
Austin-based Vuevent, a startup that provides an event application and marketing intelligence platform, has been acquired by TrellisSoft Inc., a younger and a two-year old private software company based in San Jose, California. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2014 by Brenton Shafer and Jimmy Derocher, Vuevent allows event organizers to craft their own custom event experience, for any size and type of event, with a marketplace full of robust tools and features providing maximum engagement for event attendees. After the event, attendees can continue to discover millions of events, worldwide. The company raised $1.4 million in seed funding led by Inizio Capital with participation from additional angel investors. Vuevent will become a wholly owned subsidiary of TrellisSoft and continues operations will continue in Austin, according to Brent Shafer.
Vuevent started as an event discovery platform. After gaining tens of thousands of registered users, the team used its patented discovery engine to augment to its new business model – An Event Experience and Attendee Engagement platform. Today, they’re working with all types of events such as the Austin Trail of Lights with 400k+ attendees, to golf tournaments such as the United Leasing and Finance Championship, part of the Web.com PGA tour, three day dance workshops and everything in between.
