Popular cryptocurrency investor Ian Balina hacked; $2 million allegedly stolen in the middle of his livestream

Hackers once again proved that crypro assets are are not fully safe and secure. Ian Balina, a popular cryptocurrency evangelist learned the hard way, this time, during a live stream session live stream to an audience of more than 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. It all happened yesterday when Balina was reviewing ICOs on his YouTube channel, when a viewer suddenly notified him that “someone” had moved all tokens out of his wallet.

Ian Balina, a cryptocurrency investor and advisor, is known for his (sponsored) ICO reviews. He apparently lost his $2 million worth of Ethereum holdings in a hacking incident. Balina has been featured in Forbes, Wall Street Journal and CNBC.

The screenshot below shows that wallet transactions on Etherscan show that almost all of Balina’s tokens were withdrawn from his account during the livestream. This included more than 20 million Nucleus Vision, 2 million Pareto Network, and 1 million Loom among others.

Balina later tweeted this morning: “Crypto Family, I need you now more than ever. I ended today’s live stream b/c I am being hacked. I’m not worried about the money. I learned my lesson.
