This startup gives you a breathtaking experience of flying around Paris in virtual reality, for just 15 Euros

Discover Paris like you’ve never seen it before. A new French Startup, FlyView, is now offering spectacular experience of flying over Paris and its most famous monuments. For the first time ever, anyone can experience a real tour of Paris and a unique opportunity to see Paris from above. For just $15, FlyView will offer you a unique virtual reality experience within walking distance from the Opéra Garnier.  Yesterday, the opened its door to visitor to get a unique virtual reality attraction where visitors can visit Paris from the sky with a jetpack, taking in real-life 360 degree views of monuments and scenery.

With the help of FlyView’s “jetpack” flight simulator, visitors get incredibly close to the sites that make the City of Light one of the most beautiful places in the world. Visitors enter FlyView from Place de l’Opéra. They arrive in a lobby resembling an airport terminal with check-in counters, flight attendants and screens then provide information on the upcoming flights. The launch area has 50 jetpacks, making it one of the world’s largest virtual reality installations. Once on board its jetpack (mounted on actuators), and equipped with a virtual reality helmet (HTC Vive), the visitor sees himself take off and rise above the rooftops of Paris. The flying sensations are more real than life. An unprecedented technological feat!

Visitors will be able to explore around 20 monuments in total, flying close by and at a low altitude. While everyone has the same itinerary, each person will see different things because of the immersive, 360 degree view. This is a unique opportunity to fly close to the grandest monuments in Paris and explore them from a new angle.

This sophisticated device synchronizes the platform with the jetpack’s movements-taking off, flying forward, stopping for panoramic views, moving sideways, and dropping down next to a monument-to create an immersive experience over Paris with ultra-realistic flying sensations that little ones and grown-ups alike will love. The experience is breathtaking. The views over Paris are magnificent. The flying experience is spectacular.

Founded by Arnaud Houette, the FlyView project was launched in 2014, after several years of planning. The company assembled a team of talented experts from all the appropriate professions. They designed the experience they wanted for their customers, assembled the different technological components, and imagined the world we wanted to present; finally, financial supporters with a passion for our project provided the funds.
