Nutanix acquires app discovery startup Netsil
Enterprise cloud computing software company, Nutanix, announced today it has acquired next generation app discovery startup Netsil. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. This is Nutanix second acquisition so far this month. Netsil is a San Francisco-based company that makes application discovery and operations management software. Earlier this month, Nutanix signed a definitive agreement to acquire Minjar Inc. to help enterprises accelerate their multi-cloud journey with Botmetric, Minjar’s solution for intelligent cloud optimization. This is a strategic acquisition. Nutanix said it plans to use acquisition to strengthen its Enterprise Cloud OS software with capabilities to help enterprises manage their multi-cloud deployments. The terms of deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009 by Dheeraj Pandey, Mohit Aron and Ajeet Singh, Nutanix provides hyper-converged infrastructure appliances and software-defined storage to customers around the world. Nutanix is also the first company to offer a radically simple compute and storage infrastructure for implementing enterprise-class virtualization without complex and expensive network storage (SAN or NAS). Its storage technology is built on architectural techniques employed in core infrastructure systems at Google, Nutanix Complete Cluster’s converged compute and storage architecture can scale to manage petabytes of data while running thousands of virtual machines and aims to disrupt the multi-billion dollar virtualization industry.
Netsil is the San Francisco-based maker of the Netsil Application Operations Center, which helps enterprises gain complete visibility into all their applications and services and their complex interdependencies with absolutely no code changes required. Netsil’s algorithm-based and non-invasive technology helps to achieve visibility and control at scale while keeping application transparency. As a result, development and operations teams are able to ensure uptime, software quality and safer deployments, and meet their service level objectives (SLOs). The addition of Netsil’s technology to the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS software will help customers secure applications as well as identify and fix performance issues.

Since emerging from stealth mode in April 2011, Nutanix has raised $71 million in three funding rounds from top tier VCs that include Kholsa Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs, Battery Ventures and Blumberg Capital. Nutanix has been named a leader in 2018 inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for hyperconverged infrastructure.
