Amazon Echo has been on the market for some time. However, Google Home is also gaining some ground. They are both two of the most popular Wi-Fi connected speakers out there. First off, both devices are extremely useful additions to any home. “It largely depends upon your reasons for buying as both will have their strengths and weaknesses. The Amazon Echo is still the market leader in the field but it is worth mentioning that it had first mover advantage,” Tane Clark told TechStartups in an email.

One argument is that as the Echo has been around longer so it is compatible with more smart devices in the home but remember that the Home is catching up fast in terms of compatibility.  If music and movies is your thing the Google Home is likely the best option as it works great with Google Play Music and of course YouTube.
