In just one tweet, Kylie Jenner wiped out $1.3 billion of Snapchat’s market value; ‘ugh this is so sad’
We are in the age of social media. Social influencers may break or make some startups. Perhaps Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snapchat, should start thinking of calling Kylie Jenner. In just one tweet, Kylie Jenner wiped out $1.3 billion of Snapchat’s market value. Kylie Jenner tweeted she hasn’t been using the Snapchat app lately. Snapchat stock went south after the tweet. Users pile on with feedback that echoes Wall Street concerns. In the meantime, Evan Spiegel, Snap Inc.’s CEO, received a $636.6 million stock grant when his company went public.
At about 2PM Eastern Time, Snap Inc., the parent company of SnapChat, lost about eight percent of its market value.
Here is her original tweet.
