Volkswagen’s startup MOIA builds world’s first ride-sharing car. MOIA, the tech startup owned by the Volkswagen Group, has produced the world’s first purpose-built ride-sharing vehicle. The car has room for six passengers and is fully electric.
Farming startup Indigo raises $203 million in funding from Dubai fund. The Boston-based startup Indigo announced it has raised more than $200 million from Dubai investors. The startup plans to use the new cash injection to reform how crops including wheat, soybeans, cotton and corn are grown around the world. The company has raised more than $500 million to date.
HealthiPass, a health payments startup raised $7.2 million in new funding. Naperville Illinois-based medical-payments startup HealthiPass has raised $7.2 million in new funding. The startup’s software connects with doctors offices and insurers, calculating how much the patient is responsible for after copays, deductibles and other factors. You can use a tablet-based kiosk at your doctor’s office to plug in your insurance and other billing information. HealthiPass plans to use the new funding to hire more employees, increase its sales force and expand to new locations.
