Back in December, 2016, the company raised $8.7M to get access to the right features in front of right users. The company went on to say:

The Oakland-based company was founded in July, 2014 by Edith Harbaugh and John Kodumal. The company is growing rapidly and currently looking to hire more employees. It’s Feature Management Platform currently serves over 10 billion feature flags daily.
LaunchDarkly also provides software development kits (SDKs) on both the web and mobile platforms.
