Canadian startup X-Matik becomes the first company to turn regular car into an autonomous car

With its LaneCruise self-driving add-on kit, the Canadian startup, X-Matik will be the first company to bring self-driving technology to older cars. Founded in February of 2016, X-Matik  enables everyone to enjoy hands-free highway cruising and stress free bumper-to-bumper traffic driving without the need to buy a new car. The add-on kit provides three redundant methods of disengagement which puts you in control and ensure you are always safe.

For under $3000,anyone can turn a car into a self-driving car. The beta kit takes about and hour to install and will include an LCD interface, a camera and actuators on the floor pedals. X-Matik puts driver’s safety at the fore front of their design.  The add-on kit includes: dual Cam vision system that detects everything that’s important for driving. The system also puts you in control. Their system is guaranteed to disengage as soon as you touch the pedals or tug on the steering wheel. X-Matik address the limitation of the ADAS (Level 2) system. Its LaneCruise will warn you to drive when near those limits. The add-on kit also comes with dual processor actuators backed up and power loss safe, which means you can rest assured that nothing happens without your approval.

We want to help people enjoy the benefits of self-driving cars, said Nima Ashtari, the founder and CEO. “It’s pretty remarkable when you see people’s reaction to it,” he says. “It’s usually one of amazement and surprise that you can do something like this with so little money and no need for a new car.”
