- Moderna Therapeutics, a $5 Billion startup made its first cancer vaccine—for just one person. Glenda Cleaver, a 67-year-old retiree suffering from lung cancer, becomes the first person to receive Moderna cancer vaccine.
- Zero Mass, a Scottsdale Arizona-based startup, has developed Solar Panels that pull drinking water from the air. Zero Mass works by drawing ambient air through a fan into its devices. Zero Mass was founded by But Friesen, a materials scientist and professor of engineering at Arizona State University.
- Arrivo, a startup founded by SpaceX and HyperLoop One, plans to develop a high-speed train. The startup is aiming to develop the expressway in the city of Denver and it will cut along is already working in the area of highways.
- London Block Exchange, a UK cryptocurrency exchange startup launches debit card for spending bitcoin. The startup will let retail and institutional investors buy and sell cryptocurrencies, beginning with bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero and Ripple, through a dedicated app.
- Ashton Kutcher-Backed Medical Startup Brings A.I.-Assisted Body Scans to L.A. Mall. Forward, a membership-only health facility startup, backed by Ashton Kutcher, Bono and Matthew McConaughey, opens today at Westfield Century City, offering speedy care for time-is-money Hollywood VIPs.
- Betterment, the investing startup with $11 billion in assets, is rolling out a new service to make charitable giving easier. The startup announced yesterday a charitable giving feature that allows users to donate shares of their portfolio to more than 11 charities.
- Tech startups are not happy with this provision in the GOP’s tax reform plan. Tech startups are voicing their concerns about GOP’s tax plan to tax stock options. A provision in the Senate tax-cut bill would tax stock options when they vest, rather than when they’re exercised.
- AngelHack Launches 16 of their Best Performing Startups at Global Demo Day. AngelHack launched 16 of their best performing companies at Global Demo Day (GDD) November 2nd, 2017 at the Wilsey Center for Opera in front of AngelPad, Backstage Capital, Boost VC, TechCrunch, Women’s Startup Lab, Techstars, 500 Startups, RocketSpace, and over 150 investors. Various office hours, interviews, and office spaces were given away to an estimated 70 percent of companies.

- Phyter Food, a Chicago-based startup, receives $1 million to expand nutrition bar business. The startup today announced a $1 million investment from the Sustainable Local Food Investment Group (SLoFIG).
