Lithuania-based RegTech startup AMLYZE raises €2.35M in seed funding to fight financial crimes
Fighting financial crime is a massive challenge for governments and businesses worldwide. With an estimated $3.1 trillion in illicit funds circulating through the global financial system in 2023, the impact on economies, societies, and individuals is immense.
It was this global issue that prompted Vilnius-based RegTech startup AMLYZE to step in. The 5-year-old startup offers a fully automated service designed to help financial institutions and businesses comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) regulations.
Today, AMLYZE announced it has secured €2.35 million in seed funding to fuel its growth. The round was led by Practica Capital, a prominent venture capital firm in the Baltics, with additional backing from FIRSTPICK, Coinvest Capital, and the Lithuanian business angel syndicate NGL, alongside other private and institutional investors such as Advanzia Bank, a Luxembourg-based digital bank.
This funding signals the start of a significant growth phase for AMLYZE, positioning the startup to expand its services to larger corporate and institutional clients. The investment will also fast-track the development of the world’s first cross-border information-sharing platform focused on fighting financial crime, utilizing artificial intelligence and synthetic data to streamline compliance for financial institutions globally.
Founded in 2019 by Gabrielius Bilkštys (CEO), Alexandre Pinot, and Jekaterina Govina, AMLYZE is a leading RegTech provider offering comprehensive AML/CFT solutions. Their services include real-time transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment, and screening for politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions, and adverse media.
Speaking about the investment, Bilkštys said, “This funding allows us to accelerate growth and expand our reach. Our new platform will revolutionize how financial institutions share information, significantly enhancing the security of the global financial ecosystem.”
AMLYZE’s upcoming platform is designed for fintechs, neo-banks, financial intelligence units (FIUs), and regulators, providing a unique solution for cross-border information sharing. With deep expertise in financial regulation and compliance, AMLYZE is committed to boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of anti-financial crime processes.
Donatas Keras, Founding Partner at Practica Capital, emphasized the importance of AMLYZE’s work: “Their technology is crucial in today’s financial landscape, and we are confident in the team’s ability to deliver on their ambitious vision.”
Matas Ramanauskas, Investment Manager at Coinvest Capital, echoed these sentiments: “AMLYZE’s vision and progress have been remarkable. We are excited to see how their platform will enhance financial crime prevention across borders.”
