CROSS THE AGES secures $3.5M funding led by Animoca Brands, lists on major exchanges
CROSS THE AGES (CTA), a France-based blockchain gaming startup and a developer of free play-to-earn games, has secured a $3.5 million equity round of funding, the company announced on Wednesday without disclosing its valuation.
The round was led by game-focused crypto investment firm Animoca Brands, with participation from other investors including Sebastien Borget of The Sandbox and Nicolas Jeuffrain of Tenergie. The round builds upon the $15 million previous funding raised, bringing the total funding raised by the company to $23.5 million including community fundraising.
CROSS THE AGES will use the new fresh capital infusion to go toward development, and accelerate its many growth initiatives, talent retention, and go-to-market activities. and build out the CTA universe and ecosystem.
We covered CTA back in 2022 after it raised $12 million in seed round funding to grow its free-to-play game featuring digital trading cards as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The round was backed by investors including Animoca Brands, Ubisoft, Polygon, and Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder and COO of The Sandbox.
“Cross the Ages” emerges as a mobile-centric collectible card game delving into a dystopian future, drawing inspiration from a series of freely accessible novels. Within this immersive universe, players engage in solo or team-based competitions to secure Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), with the added option to convert their digital cards into tangible, physical copies.
The recent funding injection aligns strategically with the ecosystem’s Token Generation Event (TGE), poised to amplify its reach and impact. Noteworthy exchanges such as Bybit, KuCoin, GATE, and MEXC are slated to list the CTA token, further enhancing its accessibility and liquidity within the market.
Since its virtual trading card game debut in March 2023, CROSS THE AGES reports an impressive milestone, boasting over 400,000 downloads and garnering a dedicated community of 148,000 monthly active users. This meteoric rise underscores the game’s appeal and underscores its potential as a pioneering force in the gaming industry.
