Top Chinese official told the US: “The United States does not have the qualification that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength”

According to renowned U.S. intellectual Noam Chomsky, America is an empire in decline. Chomsky said America’s decline started shortly after the end of World War II, with the “loss of China” followed by the Indochina Wars. By 1970, the United States’ share of world wealth had declined to about 25%, which was still large but sharply reduced. Chomsky added, “the world will not mourn the decline of U.S. hegemony.

Whether you agree with Chomsky or not, there’s no denying that America is declining militarily, socially, technologically, morally, financially, and economically. The coronavirus pandemic that broke out of China finally brought America to its knees. In the last year alone, America has borrowed trillions of dollars to fight the pandemic. The U.S. debt reached a new high of $27.9 trillion as of February 26, 2021. The pandemic also exposes the U.S. growing dependence on China for medicine, prescription drugs, rare earth metals, among others.

Last month, we wrote about Chinese President Xi after he gave a speech at the special seminar for county-level leaders to study and implement the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Party. During the speech, President Xi said, “The United States is the biggest threat to our country’s development and security.”

This week, Chinese officials and the U.S had their first under the new Biden administration. The meeting quickly descends into bickering with an exchange of insults at a pre-meeting press event in Alaska on Thursday. The world is also able to see a rare display of the deeply strained relations between the two countries.
