AI healthcare startup Heidi raises $65M in series B funding at $465M valuation

Healthcare AI startup Heidi has secured $65 million in Series B funding, pushing its valuation to $465 million. The round was led by Point72 Private Investments, with continued backing from Blackbird, Headline, and Latitude, the growth fund of Phoenix Court. This brings Heidi’s total funding to nearly $100 million, fueling its push to reshape how clinicians manage their daily work.
Bloomberg confirmed the funding, reporting: “Heidi, a startup that uses artificial intelligence to automate administrative work for doctors, has raised $65 million in a new funding round led by billionaire Steve Cohen’s Point72 Private Investments.”
Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to take over time-consuming administrative tasks like documentation, evidence search, and follow-up communications. For many healthcare professionals, these chores eat up almost as much time as patient care. Heidi’s platform has already returned more than 18 million hours to frontline clinicians in just 18 months, giving them back time to focus on patients instead of paperwork.
Dr. Thomas Kelly, Heidi’s CEO and co-founder and a former vascular surgical resident, framed the company’s mission against a backdrop of mounting pressure on global healthcare systems.
“It is untenable that healthcare demand continues to rise while clinical time continues to shrink. Building a sustainable healthcare system requires expanding clinical capacity without compromising clinician wellbeing or patient safety. That’s why I founded Heidi: to build an AI Care Partner that stands alongside clinicians, empowering them to deliver the care to which they have dedicated their lives.”
Adoption has been striking. Tens of thousands of clinicians across more than 200 medical specialties use Heidi to reduce administrative load. Over the past year and a half, the platform has supported 73 million patient consults and now handles over two million consults every week in 110 languages across 116 countries.
With $65M in New Funding, Heidi Wants to Give Clinicians Their Time Back
In a blog post, Heidi said it plans to use the fresh capital infusion to grow its team and deepen its presence in key markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, while continuing to build on grassroots adoption across France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Health systems in multiple countries are already integrating Heidi into their operations. In the UK, Heidi was selected by Modality Partnership for the country’s largest ambient AI deployment, and is being piloted with NHS Trusts in North West London and One LSC in Lancashire and South Cumbria, serving a combined population of more than 4 million people. In the United States, Beth Israel Lahey Health has signed on, and MaineGeneral has cited Heidi as a “transformation partner” across its network in Maine. In Canada, the Yukon Government has made Heidi its official choice. Australia’s Monash Health has adopted Heidi across 40 facilities serving 1.6 million people, and Queensland Health Children’s Hospital and Health Service is using it to support specialized pediatric care. In New Zealand, the Health Ministry has formally endorsed Heidi as one of two healthcare AI providers safe to trial in the public system.

Alongside the funding news, Heidi announced two key leadership hires. Paul Williamson, former Head of Revenue at Plaid, joins as Chief Revenue Officer, and Dr. Simon Kos, former Chief Medical Officer at Microsoft, steps in as Chief Medical Officer.

The platform now processes more than two million consults weekly, adheres to strict privacy and security standards, including NHS, HIPAA, GDPR, and Australian Privacy Principles, and has secured SOC2 and ISO27001 certifications.
