AI security startup Straiker raises $64M Series A as enterprises rush to secure AI agents
The funding comes as demand for AI agent security surges, with Straiker reporting 15x revenue growth in run rate in less than a year.
AI agents are quickly becoming part of everyday business operations. They write code, answer customer questions, automate internal workflows, analyze data, and interact with critical enterprise systems with little or no human involvement. Their growing autonomy is opening new opportunities for companies, yet it is creating a new class of cybersecurity risks that many existing security tools were never built to address.
That shift is fueling investor interest in startups focused on securing AI agents.
Straiker, a startup building security software for enterprise AI agents, announced Monday that it has raised $64 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $85 million. The round was led by Marathon Management Partners, Citi Ventures, Illuminate Financial, and Workday Ventures, with participation from existing investors Bain Capital Ventures and Lightspeed. Marathon’s founding partner, Gokul Rajaram, will join Straiker’s board as part of the investment.
The funding arrives as enterprises race to deploy AI agents across customer service, software development, finance, IT operations, and other business functions. Research firm IDC projects that more than one billion AI agents will be deployed across enterprises by 2029, up from roughly 25 million in 2025. That pace of adoption is forcing security teams to rethink how they protect software that can make decisions and take actions on its own.
As AI Agents Flood the Enterprise, Straiker Raises $64M to Keep Them Secure
Recent incidents have highlighted the challenge. Reuters reported this spring that attackers manipulated Meta’s AI support agent to change account email addresses and bypass two-factor authentication, leading to the takeover of more than 20,000 Instagram accounts without breaching Meta’s core infrastructure.
Research from STAR Labs, Straiker’s internal AI threat research team, points to similar concerns. The company says 36% of successful attacks against coding agents resulted in remote code execution. In separate testing, 91% of successful attacks against productivity agents led to silent data exfiltration without malware or stolen credentials.
Straiker’s platform is built around three areas that companies increasingly need as AI agents become part of enterprise infrastructure. It discovers AI agents running across an organization, performs adversarial testing before deployment to identify weaknesses, and monitors agent activity in production to detect and stop attacks.
The platform connects those capabilities through a shared intelligence layer. Threats detected during production improve future testing, and vulnerabilities found during testing strengthen runtime protections. Straiker says its work with frontier AI labs gives the company early insight into new attack techniques that can be incorporated into its security models.

The company’s leadership brings experience from both cybersecurity and AI. Chief executive Ankur Shah previously led Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Cloud business as senior vice president and general manager. Chief Technology Officer Sreenath Kurupati previously led AI and security research at Akamai following the company’s acquisition of Cyberfend, the fraud-detection startup he founded.
Straiker says demand has grown sharply since launching in 2025. The startup counts frontier AI labs and Fortune 500 companies among its customers and says its annualized run-rate revenue has increased more than fifteenfold in less than a year.
“Demand is outpacing anything we forecast,” said Ankur Shah, Co-Founder and CEO of Straiker. “This round goes straight into product, our STAR Labs threat research, and the global expansion our enterprise customers are pulling us toward.”
Investors see AI agent security emerging as a distinct category within enterprise cybersecurity.

For enterprises adopting AI agents at scale, the challenge is shifting from experimenting with autonomous software to controlling what those systems can access, how they behave, and what happens when they are manipulated. That shift is creating demand for security platforms built with AI agents in mind, placing startups like Straiker in the middle of one of cybersecurity’s newest markets.
