Hormona raises $6.6M to disrupt women’s hormone health with AI and at-home testing

London-based health-tech startup Hormona has just raised a $6.6 million (£5M) Seed round to build a better approach to hormone health. The round was led by Helsinki-based Voima Ventures and co-led by SuperNode Global in London, with backing from DLF Ventures, Nascent Invest, and Techstars.
Most women know something feels off long before they get answers. Hormonal imbalances can affect everything—mood, energy, sleep, fertility—but many women spend years going from doctor to doctor, only to walk away with little more than a shrug.
Hormona wants to change that.
Founded by Karolina Löfqvist (CEO) and Jasmine Tagesson, Hormona combines at-home testing with AI-driven tracking to help women monitor hormone levels in real-time, without labs, expensive blood draws, or endless trial-and-error treatments.
Löfquist’s frustration with that very system was what sparked the idea. She spent years suffering from symptoms that were brushed off, only to discover later that she had a common hormonal condition that had gone undiagnosed. She built Hormona to give women what she didn’t have: a way to spot hormone problems early, track changes over time, and take control of their health.
Hormona Is Helping Women Take Back Control of Their Hormone Health
Hormona’s tests are the first of their kind—fully quantitative and able to cover the full clinical range with over 90% accuracy compared to standard venous blood samples. And instead of charging nearly $175 for a single test (the going rate for many traditional hormone panels), Hormona offers ongoing monitoring at a fraction of the cost.
With over 100 million views on Instagram and 5 million likes on TikTok, the demand is clear. Their app, downloaded in over 190 countries, is seeing 30% month-over-month growth, and 80% of users are still active a year after signing up. That kind of retention is rare in health tech, and it shows that women are hungry for better tools.
The new funding will help Hormona scale those tools. The team plans to launch new hormone tests, grow B2B partnerships, and beef up infrastructure, marketing, and customer support. It will also support new hires to help improve user experience and roll out more personalized features through Hormona+.
Voima Ventures’ Inka Mero and SuperNode’s Gina King will both join Hormona’s all-female board. Mero has backed multiple science-driven startups, and King is a founding member of Chief, the executive network for women leaders.
“For too long, women have had to suffer through hormonal issues, relying on trial and error and waiting until symptoms become unbearable. That’s no way to live,” said Löfqvist. “We built Hormona to change that—to give women control over their hormonal health without having to spend years suffering, as I did. This investment brings us one step closer to making real-time hormone tracking accessible to women everywhere without the need for multiple blood draws.”
Women’s health has long been underfunded and overlooked. Only 2% of global medical research spending goes toward women-specific issues. In the UK, all-female founder teams received just 2% of total equity investment in 2024. Hormona’s raise bucks that trend—and it’s not just a win for its team, but for the larger fight to close the gender health gap.
Right now, no consumer hormone test on the market gives women a clear, ongoing view of how their levels shift over time. Hormona wants to make that normal. Its monthly subscription offers insights into hormonal phases, personalized symptom-reduction plans, cycle-specific nutrition, and even alerts for partners who want to offer better support.
SuperNode’s Gina King put it bluntly: “The future of women’s health is proactive, data-driven, and deeply personalized—and Hormona is making that future a reality. They’re bringing precision to a space long defined by guesswork.”
Hormona has now raised a total of $8.6 million (£6.5M) and built a team of 12. It’s still early, but the startup is already showing what can happen when women build healthcare solutions that actually work for women.
