Crypto.com enables first-ever onsite crypto payments at Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix

For the first time, fans at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix will be able to pay with crypto. Crypto.com announced Thursday that it’s enabling cryptocurrency payments at the event, giving attendees the option to use digital assets for food and beverage purchases throughout race weekend.
The company said its payment platform, Crypto.com Pay, will be available at select vendors throughout the event. Fans using the Crypto.com App can make purchases with zero transaction fees, while merchants benefit from quicker processing and lower costs.
“Further enabling digital payment capabilities is central to supporting our vision of crypto in every wallet,” said Joe Anzures, General Manager, Americas and EVP of Payments at Crypto.com. “High-profile global events that convene tech-savvy and digitally native consumers are incredibly impactful in furthering cryptocurrency utility, and we are excited to provide attendees of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix the ability to pay with their crypto.”
Jason Green, SVP and Chief Revenue Officer of the event, said the move reflects a shared focus on improving convenience and delivering more flexible payment options to fans. “We pride ourselves on delivering innovation that enhances ease and convenience for our fans,” he said. “As an inaugural partner, it’s rewarding to see the natural evolution of our collaboration with Crypto.com.”
Crypto.com has been the title sponsor of the Miami Grand Prix since its debut in 2022. Its brand will be featured prominently throughout the event—on the grid, start/finish lines, podium, trophies, hospitality areas, and the Fan Zone—from May 2 to May 4 at the Miami International Autodrome.
Steven Kalifowitz, Crypto.com’s CMO, said the move deepens their partnership with Formula 1 and expands access for fans. “We’ve built a brand that sets the highest standards for our industry,” he said. “Deepening our partnerships with phenomenal brands like the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, while helping expand access for guests to utilize crypto, is just a natural next step for us.”
