Unravel raises $7M to transform travel booking with TikTok-style AI video commerce

Planning a trip usually starts with hours of search and comparison—flipping through dozens of tabs, reading endless reviews, and trying to piece together inspiration from scattered sources. But for a new generation of travelers, that’s not how it works anymore. They’re discovering their next destination on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube—watching creators walk through street food stalls in Bangkok or relax in overwater villas in the Maldives.
Unravel is betting that this shift in behavior is more than a trend. The London-based startup just raised $7 million in Series A funding to back that belief.
The round was led by Nauta Capital, with participation from Active Partners, Slingshot Ventures (whose largest LP is Kees Koolen, ex-CEO and Chairman of Booking.com), and Olivier Bisserier, former CFO at Booking.com. They’re joined by returning investors like Antler, Nodes, Upscalers, Brook Bay Capital, and The Players Fund—whose backers include athletes Ben Stokes, KL Rahul, and Jessica Ennis-Hill.
The “TikTok of Travel”: Turning Creator Content Into Travel Bookings
The pitch is simple: travelers are inspired by videos, not search boxes. So why not let them book the experiences they see, right from the video?
“We’re building for how people actually discover travel now,” said Vijay Anand, CEO and co-founder of Unravel. “They don’t sift through endless search results—they get inspired by creators who are exploring the world and sharing their experiences. Unravel bridges that gap, turning creator-shot videos into seamless, AI-powered booking experiences.”
Unravel works with influential travel creators to curate real, unscripted content that sparks wanderlust. From inside a banking app, an airline’s loyalty program, or a fintech platform, users can go from watching a short video to booking their next trip—no hunting for links or juggling browser tabs.
The company’s white-label platform is already used by major banks, insurers, and telcos across Asia and the Middle East, with expansion underway in Europe and the UK. Clients have seen a 4x increase in daily active users and a 10x lift in conversion rates.
Banks and telecom providers are leaning into travel as a new way to engage customers. Unravel lets them launch video-first travel booking experiences in a matter of days instead of building custom platforms that take years.
This new round of funding will be used to grow Unravel’s London team and double down on its AI capabilities—focusing on improving how users move from inspiration to transaction. The company is hiring across AI/ML, enterprise partnerships, and digital commerce roles, pulling talent from travel tech and financial services.
For investors like KL Rahul, the appeal is clear. “As someone who has traveled throughout my life and my career, I’m well aware of the limitations of the discovery and booking process. By adding video and AI into that process, Unravel has created something that could be the future and presents a huge opportunity.”
Carles Ferrer, General Partner at Nauta, sees the timing as perfect. “The rise of TikTok has had a massive influence on the way people experience content on mobile… Unravel has combined both of these market changes, with the addition of an AI booking assistant, to produce an incredibly popular white-label solution.”
Olivier Bisserier, who spent years shaping Booking.com’s growth, isn’t just an advisor—he’s now a backer. “I’ve seen their vision, their execution and I believe what they’re building is truly the future of travel.”
For Unravel, the message is clear: scroll, get inspired, and book—all in one place.
