Twitter outage leaves thousands of users unable to tweet

Thousands of Twitter users in the US were able to tweet on Wednesday after the social giant experienced a few hours of outage. Users prematurely encountered a message that said “You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets.”
According to outage tracking site Downdetector.com, Twitter was down for some 9,000 users in the United States at 5 p.m. Eastern time. The number of outages later declined to 2,500 by 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
About 34 minutes ago, Twitter’s support account tweeted:
“Twitter may not be working as expected for some of you. Sorry for the trouble. We’re aware and working to get this fixed.”
“new: as engineers worked to solve the outage, Musk told employees to pause new feature development in favor of maximizing stability ahead of the Super Bowl, historically Twitter’s highest-grossing day of the year.”
