Elon Musk: ‘Politicians and unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered & thrown out of town!’
Early this week, Elon Musk defied the state of California coronavirus lockdown and reopened Tesla Fremont factory. Even though Alameda County officials said they had been working with Tesla to reopen the plant on May 18, Tesla insisted on reopening its factory. The standoff between Musk and California’s Alameda County officials later came to an end on May 13 after the county agreed to let Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, reopened.
Musk was unhappy with the way California government is handling the stay-at-home rules. Back in April, he lashed out at government stay at home orders as “fascist” in an expletive-laced rant on Tesla’s Q1 2020 earnings call.
“I think the people are going to be very angry about this and are very angry. It’s like somebody should be, if somebody wants to stay in the house that’s great, they should be allowed to stay in the house and they should not be compelled to leave. But to say that they cannot leave their house, and they will be arrested if they do, this is fascist. This is not democratic. This is not freedom. Give people back their goddamn freedom.”
Now, Musk is doubling down is attack on not just the California government but also on politicians and unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty. Responding to a Twitter video from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy which heavily criticized the continued stay-at-home orders, Musk said Portnoy should consider running for office before calling for draconian measures to overturn members of the government.
“Well said!” Musk tweeted. “Please run for office. The politicians & unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered & thrown out of town!”
His tweet generated instant reply from a Twitter user, The Zen Corner, saying, “Elon, you’re a brilliant man who is helping the planet. Remember when you said the virus would disappear in April? Thousands have died. Human lives are more important than money.”
In response Musk said, “The statistics stopped being valid when anyone with “covid symptoms”, which is now almost anything, was counted as having covid.”
In the meantime, Musk said he’s considering moving Tesla HQ to Austin, Texas, a city with more favorable business climate.
Well said! Please run for office. The politicians & unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered & thrown out of town!
