2.2 million Americans could have died without social distancing and early mitigation measures

President Trump today said during the Saturday White House Coronavirus Task Force Briefing that about 2.2 million Americans could have died without the early mitigation measures put in place by the government and social distancing. The President also announced the extension of Social Distancing guidelines to April 30.
To date, there are over 140,960 reported coronavirus cases in the U.S. with at least 2,457 deaths. A total of 4,435 people have also recovered from the deadly virus.
