Fhenix to Host ‘Encryption Day’ as a Side Event at EthCC Brussels on July 9, 2024
Fhenix, the pioneering Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) Layer 2 blockchain, today announced Encryption Day as a side event alongside EthCC in Brussels. Scheduled for July 9 at Ace Events on Av. d’Auderghem 22, this developer-focused gathering promises deep insights into leveraging ZK, FHE, and MPC within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Encryption Day aims to convene over 1,100 Ethereum enthusiasts dedicated to enhancing onchain privacy solutions. The event, set against the backdrop of EthCC, serves as a pivotal platform for developers keen on advancing encryption and cryptography applications.
Keynotes will be delivered by eminent figures such as Justin Drake from the Ethereum Foundation, alongside Ed Felten, Co-Founder of Arbitrum. Representatives from industry leaders like Fhenix, Zama, StarkWare, RISC Zero, ZKSync, Gauntlet, and Aztec will also share their expertise.
Attendees can expect a packed agenda featuring talks and panel discussions exploring various facets of encryption in Ethereum. Highlights include Fhenix’s insights on Secure and Confidential AI and a panel comparing ZK and FHE technologies with representatives from Polygon, ZKSync, and Fhenix. The Ethereum Foundation will delve into Encrypted Mempools, while other sessions will cover topics ranging from End-to-End Encrypted Blockchains to Confidential DeFi.
Encryption Day promises to unveil the latest privacy innovations and cryptographic trends shaping Ethereum’s future. Tailored for developers, cryptography enthusiasts, and blockchain aficionados passionate about privacy, the event still has spots available for interested participants.
This year, Encryption Day will operate as a complementary event to EthCC, the premier Ethereum community conference running from July 8-11 in Brussels. EthCC will feature a diverse program including conferences, workshops, and panel discussions focusing on blockchain innovations and Ethereum’s core use cases.
Encryption Day at EthCC represents a unique opportunity for developers and cryptography researchers to engage in profound discussions on privacy technologies driving Ethereum’s evolution. Discover practical applications and future directions for ZK, FHE, and MPC firsthand at this essential industry gathering.
Founded in 2023 by CEO Guy Itzhaki and Guy Zyskind, Fhenix is the first private blockchain to employ fully homomorphic encryption. Their use of fhEVM facilitates Ethereum developers in writing encrypted smart contracts and performing encrypted data computations, all within the familiar Solidity environment.
We covered Fhenix early this month after the Israeli tech startup raised a $15 million Series A round led by Hack VC, with participation from other backers including Dao5, Amber Group, Primitive Ventures, GSR, Collider Ventures, and Stake Capital.
Fhenix relies on fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) technology from Zama to bolster confidentiality across its network. Considered the “holy grail” of cryptography, FHE ensures end-to-end data encryption, even during processing stages. Notably, other crypto projects, such as modular blockchain developer Inco and creators of the Shiba Inu memecoin, also leverage Zama’s FHE technology.
