Israeli cloud security startup Aryon Security exits stealth with $9M to prevent cloud threats before deployment

With cyberattacks becoming more frequent and cloud misconfigurations leading to costly breaches, Aryon Security is stepping in with a different approach. The Israeli cloud security startup, founded by alumni of the Matzov unit in the Israel Defense Forces, has launched its Cloud Security Enforcement Platform, which aims to prevent cloud security risks before they make it to production.
Today, Aryon Security has emerged from stealth with $9 million in seed funding, backed by Viola Ventures and Blumberg Capital, along with cybersecurity veterans like Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva, Cato Networks), Maty Siman (Checkmarx), and Rubi Aronashvili (CYE).
Fixing Cloud Security Before It Becomes a Problem
Most cloud security tools detect risks after they’ve already been deployed, leaving companies scrambling to fix issues before attackers exploit them. Aryon flips that model by enforcing security policies upfront, stopping misconfigurations and data exposure before they happen.
The approach takes direct aim at a $44 billion cloud security market that has been largely reactive. Gartner estimates that 99% of cloud breaches stem from human errors and misconfigurations, yet most companies still rely on tools that flag issues after the fact. Aryon’s platform changes that by preventing security drift altogether.
A Founding Team With Deep Cybersecurity Roots
Aryon Security was founded by CEO Ron Arbel, CTO Ariel Litmanovich, and VP of R&D Yair Ladizhensky, all former members of Matzov, the IDF’s elite cybersecurity unit. They previously worked together on Project Nimbus, a $7.2 billion national cloud infrastructure project for Israel’s government.
“After working on large-scale cloud security challenges, we realized companies needed a way to govern cloud environments before risks made it in—not just detect problems after the fact,” Arbel said.
How Aryon’s Platform Works
Aryon’s technology-agnostic platform integrates with existing cloud environments, whether organizations use Infrastructure as Code (IaC), manual configurations, or third-party cloud management tools. Instead of relying on security teams to catch misconfigurations later, Aryon enforces security rules before anything is deployed.
“Security is a major barrier to cloud expansion, and companies are tired of chasing security issues after the fact,” said Oran Hollander, CSO at SAP Fioneer. “Aryon provides a unique solution that eliminates risks before they even reach production.”
Backed by Investors Betting on a Shift in Cloud Security
Investors see Aryon as the next big cybersecurity disruptor from Israel. Viola Ventures’ Zvika Orron said his team conducted validation calls with enterprise CISOs during the ideation stage and found “immediate demand for risk prevention.”
Blumberg Capital’s Yodfat Harel Buchris added, “Aryon has the team and technology to gain the trust of the Global 5000. CISOs worldwide are ready to move from reactive to preventive cloud security.”
Building for a Future Without Cloud Misconfigurations
Aryon’s founders believe the shift toward proactive cloud security is inevitable. Arbel says the goal is to help even the most risk-averse organizations move to the cloud without losing control or disrupting business operations.
“We’re building the security layer that should have existed from the start,” Arbel said. “It’s time to stop reacting to cloud security issues and start preventing them instead.”
