Warburg Pincus to acquire beverage software firm Vermont Information Processing in $1 billion deal
Warburg Pincus, one of the largest private equity firms globally, has struck a deal to acquire Vermont Information Processing, a company that develops software for beverage distributors, for around $1 billion, including debt, according to Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter.
The agreement has been finalized and is expected to be announced in the coming days, the sources said, requesting anonymity as the details are confidential.
Warburg Pincus declined to comment, and Vermont Information Processing has yet to respond to requests for comment.

Vermont Information Processing was founded in 1972 by electrical engineer Howard Aiken as a billing service for beer, wine, and soda distributors. Based in Colchester, Vermont, the company now offers software that supports warehouse and inventory management, cost reduction, and sales forecasting. Its client list includes major brewers like Heineken, Boston Beer, and Guinness.
