China says “No One and No Force” can stop it from taking Taiwan, sends 13 fighter jets toward the island in a show of force

It’s now over two weeks since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. And just when you think it can’t get any worse, China says “No One & No Force” can stop it from taking Taiwan as it sends 13 fighter jets toward the island in a show of force.

Over the weekend, China’s Ministry of National Defense said that “no one and no force” could ever stop the Chinese military from bringing Taiwan under Beijing’s control if it desires. The statement is a clear warning aimed at Washington as well as its major regional partners like Australia. The ministry added that any nation supporting Taiwan militarily will suffer “the worst consequences,” according to a report from Sky News.

The statement was made in response to Australia’s defense minister Peter Dutton who stated earlier that his country stands ready to do “whatever we can” to deter Chinese aggression toward Taiwan.

“Chinese officials warn “the worst consequences” will follow for any nation offering military support to Taiwan. The tirade was delivered a day after Chinese President Xi Jinping engaged in diplomatic talks with Australia in an attempt to repair international relations,” Sky News reported.

The news came amid a massive fire that broke out at a Carrefour logistics center in Taoyuan, Taiwan early Monday, but no one was injured, according to the city’s Fire Department, according to the city’s Fire Department.

Meanwhile, on Monday, 13 Chinese military aircraft breached Taiwan’s air defense identification zone – something which at this point has long been a weekly – and almost daily – occurrence. However, Reuters noted, “Taiwan is currently in a heighten state of alert due to fears China could use Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to make a similar military move on the island, though Taipei’s government has not reported any unusual Chinese movements.”

As we reported late last year, Taiwan said it’s ‘preparing for war’ with China as a record 52 Chinese warplanes breached its air defense zone. “We will fight to the end,” Taiwan’s Foreign Minister warned. In a total of 91 days from January to November 2020, Chinese air force warplanes made a record 380 incursions into Taiwan’s airspace, according to China News Daily, citing a Taipei-based think tank.

Taiwan’s air force is regularly scrambled in response to such PLA aerial maneuvers near the island.”
