Archy raises $20M in Series B Funding from TCV and Bessemer to put dental practices on autopilot with AI
Running a dental office isn’t just about fixing teeth—it’s a daily grind of scheduling, insurance calls, billing errors, and retraining new staff on outdated systems that can barely talk to each other. That’s the headache Archy wants to end.
The San Jose–based AI startup, founded by former Uber and Meta product manager Jonathan Rat, just secured $20 million in Series B funding led by TCV with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, CRV, Entrée Capital, and 25 practicing dentists who invested as angels. The company says its all-in-one AI platform replaces more than five disconnected tools that most dental practices still juggle, automating everything from scheduling and payments to insurance verification and patient communications.
Rat started Archy after watching his wife, a dentist, battle the inefficiencies of managing multiple outdated systems. That experience turned into a mission: build one cloud platform to handle the entire practice. “We’re not just building software; we’re building an AI-powered teammate that helps practices do more with smaller teams, turning the staffing crisis into a competitive advantage,” Rat said.
Archy’s platform is already processing over $100 million in annual payments for its customers and growing 300% year over year. The company says it saves mid-sized dental offices more than 80 hours a month by automating repetitive administrative tasks. Its suite of AI agents—Archy Verify, Archy Revenue, Archy Scribe, Archy Connect, and Archy Insight—collectively handle eligibility checks, claim submissions, collections, patient communication, and real-time note-taking.
For many clinics, the switch has been transformative. “Our offices previously used Dentrix for 35 years and Dexis for 17 years before switching to Archy,” said Thomas DeChellis DDS, owner of DeChellis & Stonestreet Dentistry. “Archy makes it simple to manage multiple dental offices in one platform, from x-rays to charting to patient communications and billing. We have trained team members ranging from 20 to 68 years old to use Archy within 1–2 days. Switching to Archy saved our offices over $50,000 in hardware upgrades and IT costs in year one.”
The platform’s cloud-based setup replaces the “server in the closet” still common in dental offices. Practices can now operate from anywhere with built-in backups, updates, and security, eliminating the patchwork of vendors and IT maintenance that often eats into profits.
“Dental is one of the largest specialties in healthcare, but most dentists are stuck running servers in their closets and piecing together multiple tech vendors, which no SMB should have to do,” said Austin Levitt of TCV. “Beyond just bringing customers to the cloud, Archy enables dental offices to do more with less via its novel intelligence, automation, and ease of use.”
We covered Archy almost a year ago after the tech startup secured $15 million in series A funding to transform dental practices with AI.
Founded in 2021, Archy now serves practices in 45 states and has raised $47 million to date. With this new funding, the startup plans to expand its engineering, AI, and go-to-market teams—continuing its push to help dental practices run smoother, smarter, and stress-free.
