Opera Integrates Decrypt to Deliver Crypto News Directly to Millions of Web Browsers

Opera, the crypto-friendly browser used by millions of web users daily, has just gotten a neat upgrade courtesy of Decrypt. The influential crypto media organization has partnered with Opera to integrate its news service directly into the latter’s browsers. As a result, desktop and mobile users will be able to keep tabs on the stories that make the industry tick without going anywhere.
With 350M active users, Opera is one of the world’s most popular browsers, especially with web3 natives who can take advantage of its built-in crypto wallet. While other browsers have subsequently followed suit, Opera was the first to take the plunge, rolling the feature out as far back as 2018. Since then, it’s added new features to help accelerate web3 adoption – and in the form of Decrypt, it may have found one of its most valuable yet.
Decrypt on Demand
Decrypt needs no introduction to web3 users, many of whom access the media giant’s content either directly via its news platform or through it filtering through to social channels such as X and Telegram. One of the reasons why Decrypt has built up such a loyal following is because its news coverage arguably hits the sweet spot – the Goldilocks Zone – where it’s pitched just right: not too dry and technical to deter novices and not too shilly and silly to send crypto pros scurrying.
It covers the big stuff with gravitas – deep dives, protocol explainers, founder interviews – and also handles the breaking stories with aplomb, whether it’s the latest market moves, hottest tokens, or newest narratives. There are other capable crypto news sites out there, but they’re not as accomplished all-rounders as Decrypt. Opera’s decision to integrate it into its native browser, therefore, looks to be an astute one.
The partnership will bring Decrypt’s best content to Opera News, Opera Mini, and Opera for Android, ensuring the browser’s millions of users can keep tabs on crypto wherever they are and whatever device they’re on. This will benefit crypto traders especially, who’ll be able to wake up and tell instantly whether the markets are green or red, but it’ll also benefit those who are just getting started and simply want to get a handle on how the industry works, from DeFi to staking.
Opera Ups the Ante
According to an Opera spokesperson, the partnership with Decrypt is a “natural step forward” in advancing awareness and adoption of web3 technologies, given that both companies share “the same values of accessibility, trust, and storytelling.” It’s a collab that should benefit all parties; in other words, granting Decrypt a valuable new channel to broadcast its news to while making Opera more dynamic and crypto-friendly.
Crypto users are accustomed to accessing all of their information in one place, whether it’s trading tokens in Telegram or now reading the latest news in Opera and then firing up the built-in web wallet to start acting on it. This integration isn’t just about news aggregation then: it’s about the consolidation of core crypto services, allowing everything to be done in one place.
