Omnea raises $50M in funding from Insight and Khosla to transform enterprise procurement with AI

Procurement doesn’t usually make headlines. It’s long been treated as a back-office function—important but overlooked. Omnea thinks it’s time for that to change. The London-based AI startup just raised $50 million in Series B funding led by Insight Partners and Khosla Ventures, with backing from Accel, Point Nine, First Round Capital, and Prosus.
The round pushes Omnea’s total funding past $75 million and puts a spotlight on a part of the enterprise that every CFO relies on but few tech companies have seriously reimagined. The fresh capital will go toward scaling in the US and UK and building out what the company calls AI-powered Supplier Relationship Management (AI SRM).
The pitch is straightforward: modern enterprises juggle hundreds, sometimes thousands, of suppliers. Finance teams, IT, legal, and risk departments all interact with them, but the process is slow, fragmented, and heavy on email and spreadsheets. Omnea’s platform creates a single point of entry where employees can request services in natural language, while workflows automatically loop in the right people and systems. It also provides an always-updated source of truth for supplier data.
From Spotify to MongoDB: Why Enterprises Are Betting on Omnea’s AI Procurement Platform
Omnea has grown fast since its founding in 2022. Over the past year, revenue multiplied fivefold and headcount more than tripled. Its platform is now used by big-name companies, including Spotify, Albertsons, Wise, Adecco, and MongoDB
The company’s momentum comes at a time when businesses are under pressure. Interest rates are higher, costs are rising, and regulations are shifting. At the same time, departments are layering on more third-party vendors than ever before, especially as AI adoption fuels demand for new software and services. Procurement sits at the intersection of these forces, and Omnea is betting that CFOs will see its platform as a way to rein in spending while keeping supplier risk in check.
Investors appear convinced. “Of the many players we looked at in the market, Omnea had the happiest customers out there,” said Jeff Lieberman, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “The company uses AI to deliver a modern, seamless procurement process that helps employees get the suppliers they need in a quick and compliant manner. From disruptive tech companies to Fortune 500 giants, Omnea’s customers are saving millions of dollars a year by reducing duplicative and underutilised suppliers. We are thrilled to partner with the Omnea team in this next chapter of growth.”
Spotify’s VP of Finance, Ben Kung, agreed: “Omnea’s AI capabilities and workflow automation can replace fragmented systems, endless email threads, and manual spreadsheets. This enables the possibility of a single source of truth for every request, review, and risk check, while also getting rid of the manual busywork that slows procurement teams and the rest of the business down.”
Founder and CEO Ben Freeman says Omnea is moving from orchestration to intelligence. The company’s AI SRM platform taps into supplier data locked away in spreadsheets and siloed software. It can proactively flag expired certifications for risk teams, kick off RFPs for procurement, and deliver reports for CFOs—all through a modern interface. “Businesses hold a treasure trove of supplier data, but its value is locked away in spreadsheets, inboxes and siloed point solutions,” Freeman said. “Our AI SRM platform unlocks that data at every level of the organization.”
Vinod Khosla put it more bluntly: “AI is reshaping how work gets done inside large enterprises, especially in outdated areas like procurement. Omnea is the first full AI supplier relationship management platform, automating everything from sourcing and onboarding to tracking performance and risk, to turn procurement from an administrative burden into a growth driver.”
Omnea’s team is lean but stacked with experience. Freeman brought on former Tessian executives Abhirukt Sapru and Sabrina Castiglione, who helped scale Tessian before its acquisition by Proofpoint. Together, they’re aiming to turn procurement into a strategic advantage rather than a cost center.
Founded in 2022, Omnea is already trusted by enterprises across North America and Europe. With this latest funding, the company is positioning itself as the system of record for how suppliers are sourced, managed, and measured in an AI-driven enterprise.
