DRUID AI raises $31M series C funding to scale enterprise agentic AI, appoints Joseph Kim as CEO

DRUID AI has closed a $31 million Series C funding round and brought in a new chief executive to guide its next chapter. The enterprise AI company announced today that Joseph Kim, the former CEO of Sumo Logic, will step in as CEO as it accelerates global growth. The funding was led by Cipio Partners with support from TQ Ventures, Karma Ventures, Smedvig, and Hoxton Ventures.
The investment gives DRUID AI fresh momentum as it pushes its agentic AI platform into new markets. Its technology helps enterprises create, manage, and orchestrate conversational AI agents—software designed to handle everything from customer service interactions to internal workflows.
“This investment is both a testament to DRUID AI’s success and a catalyst to elevate businesses globally through the power of agentic AI,” Kim said. “Customer success is what it’s all about, and delivering real business outcomes requires understanding companies’ pain points and introducing innovations that help those customers address their complex challenges. That’s the DRUID AI way, and now we’re bringing it to the world through this new phase of global growth.”
Backing the move, Cipio Partners managing partner Roland Dennert called DRUID AI a strong fit for its growth-stage portfolio: “DRUID AI aligns perfectly with our investment strategy – offering a differentiated, AI-based product in a vast and rapidly growing market. Our investment will help accelerate DRUID AI’s expansion into the U.S. and elsewhere, fuel further technological advancements, and strengthen its position as a global leader in enterprise AI solutions.”
Kim’s arrival signals a leadership shift designed for scale. His background spans two decades in enterprise software, security, and infrastructure. Beyond Sumo Logic, he’s held senior roles at Citrix, SolarWinds, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and GE, and has served on the boards of SmartBear and Andela. DRUID AI cofounder Andreea Plesea, who stepped in as interim CEO, said she’s confident the company’s growth ambitions are in capable hands.
The timing of the raise is strategic. DRUID AI recently earned a Challenger spot in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Conversational AI Platforms, a recognition that underscores its traction. The company says it grew ARR 2.7x in 2024, powered more than one billion conversations, and expanded its partner network to include Microsoft, Cognizant, Accenture, and Genpact.
More than 300 organizations across industries already use the platform, including AXA Insurance, Carrefour, the FDA, Georgia Southern University, Kmart Australia, and the UK’s National Health Service. DRUID AI’s orchestration engine, known as the DRUID Conductor, is built to integrate with existing systems while delivering high response accuracy—an approach the company says helps enterprises streamline operations, improve user experience, and boost ROI.
For institutions like Georgia Southern University, the results are tangible. CIO Ashlea Anderson explained, “By leveraging DRUID AI’s platform, we’ve created personalised and intuitive experiences to support students throughout their academic journeys, increasing enrollment and student retention.”
Founded in 2018, DRUID AI has established itself as a serious contender in conversational and agentic AI. With fresh capital, a high-profile CEO, and backing from growth-focused investors, the company is setting its sights on scaling its platform far beyond its current footprint.
