Cybersecurity compliance startup Vanta valued at $4B after $150M funding round

Vanta just doubled its valuation.
The San Francisco-based startup, known for helping companies stay on top of cybersecurity and privacy compliance, has raised $150 million in fresh funding. The round pushes Vanta’s valuation to around $4 billion—up from $2.45 billion last year, when it raised $150M in funding led by Sequoia Capital.
The new funding includes backing from CrowdStrike’s venture arm, Wellington Management, Atlassian Ventures, JPMorgan Chase, and longtime supporter Sequoia Capital, CNBC reported. The spike in valuation reflects a broader trend: companies are pouring more money into security tools as cyberattacks become harder to ignore.
Vanta Doubles Valuation to $4B Amid Growing Cybersecurity Demand
Just this week, Microsoft had to patch its SharePoint software after Chinese hackers exploited a flaw to gain access to customer data. It’s a reminder of how quickly trust can unravel—and why tools like Vanta’s are getting more attention.
Vanta helps companies track and maintain compliance with frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001. That means less scrambling during audits and fewer security review bottlenecks when working with large enterprises. Its CEO and co-founder, Christina Cacioppo, said the company now serves more than 12,000 customers, many of whom sell software to big names like Atlassian and Snowflake.
But demand isn’t limited to tech companies. Cacioppo said more businesses outside of software are signing up, especially those looking to speed through lengthy vendor security assessments. “Our growth rate is in the ballpark of the best SaaS companies,” she added, though she declined to share revenue figures.
Vanta was founded in 2018 by Cacioppo and Erik Goldman. Since then, it’s grown to over 1,000 employees and raised a total of $504 million. Cacioppo said the company hasn’t touched any of the $150 million it raised last year, pointing to a strong balance sheet and a cautious approach to spending.
The startup faces competition from players like Drata and Auditboard. But its momentum suggests there’s still plenty of room to run—especially as security and compliance shift from afterthoughts to boardroom priorities.
Founded in 2018 by CEO Christina Cacioppo, Vanta assists clients in security monitoring and achieving compliance certifications at an accelerated pace through process automation. The company serves customers in 58 countries with offices in Dublin, New York, San Francisco, and Sydney.
